Listen I am designing systems for this company as a project. And I am not really a hardware person, so I need to catch up a little.
I have a few questions, if any of you have free time just answer some fo them please.
1). What is this new XP thing on athlon and duron?
2). I don't see which RAM a CPU supports, is there a standard, for example all P4 go with DDR?
3). Is there a way to purchaase a bunch of lisences for windows 2k for a discount.
4). Dell usually ships the computers with an OS is it possible to change it?
5). Whats rambus?

IM not sure but i think that the AMD were tweaked to work better with XP (again im not sure).
As for Ram that is more of a mother board issue then a proc issues, otherwise we would see things like AMD XP DDR 2100+ and P4 PC133 processors instead of AMD XP 2100+ or P4. There are some issues like Intel decided to try to cram the RAMBUSS down everyones throat but it floped because it was CPU based crap.
A bunch of lisences for 2K from M$ ?????? <me falling on the floor laffing my a$$ off> CHEAP/DISCOUNTED??
Sorry... you can try to buy a site license but the cost is usualy about the same as buying the individual products.
As for buying Dell computers.. If you are doing a LOT of computers then i would recomend that you call them.. they might be willing to do something for you. Usualy they will not.
Rambus is a company that clames its RDRAM is much better then the SDRAM and DDR. I've read a little bit about Rambus and from what they have told everyone it looks to me like they are playing up hype then they are actually giving out good data. Intell also helped give rambus a bad rep... but then like Intel has anything to say about a Rep.
