He is saying that with that many os's your MBR would be a bit of a mess, So use floppys to boot each.

the setup i have on my linux box is: win2k pro and redhat 8.0, i installed lilo on the primary drive in the mbr and everything works perfectly

.... OK! .... Now boot OBSD/FBSD/QNX/NBSD/BeOS/etc. OSs with LILO, YOU CANT!

I feel the need to intervene b4 to many fallicies crop up.

Lilo will boot BSD and most others OS's - I have a nice laptop dual booting FreeBSD & OpenWallLinux using Lilo.

Better still is the grub boot loader! (search google b4 asking, please) Wink

I'm talking about generally LILO can't boot everything, perahps it can boot some BSDs but it can't boot other OSs, thats my point.

"u said you can't bood other flavors of linux w/ lilo, so i'm asking what you use"

WTF? I never said Linux, *BSD, QNX, BeOS != Linux !

LLilo isn't perfect and no boot loader is but it will boot 95% of i386 OS's if config'd ok.

The man pages for lilo and a 10 min search on google will describe how.

btw if you have so many os's installed that lilo can't cope wtf are u doing to your pc?
