Hello,
I have just installed Redhat 8.0 on my computer. I have windows XP too.
When in Linux, the computer turns in stand by every two minutes. Sometimes it turns in stand by even during the boot time.
I have just to press a buton of the keyboard to turn the computer active again.
This problem does not appear when in windows XP. Furthermore, when in Linux, it appears randomly. On average, a boot over 10, results in a normal working of my computer.
I have tried to set the bios of my computer. Thus I have changed many options of my power management (I changed the options of the suspend mode) but it does not change anything.
My battery is out of order, so I use my computer without it. Of course, the problem appears with the battery, therefore I don't think it is a material problem!
I really do not know what to do else.

Please post to only one forum for each question. I know yours crosses over from linux to windows etc.. but just pick one only. If you cross post, you risk getting your posts deleted.
All is well and see you in the sand box

I found it was APM support in the kernel causing the problem.
