Hello forumers!
I am a big internet browser and average to heavy downloader hoping to get a new computer soon, a Vista Basic or Premium with 2GB of RAM and a dual-core processor and I was wondering which one of these guys is less of a resource hog.
At our house I have used Norton AV/IS forever and now I recently discovered how evil it is.
I've always been trying to find out which is the best in every way but I always end up on 3 year old threads so its not that reliable.
Some people say that Kaspersky does not consume alot of their resources yet some people say it does....and the same goes for Bitdefender.
I have heard all good things reguarding resources & ESET, but I heard it is too advanced for some people and recently have heard by someone it is not as effective as it used to be.
So....anyone know which one would by best for my computer and me? hehe
Thanks

I think each of the three tools you mentioned - Kaspersky, BD, Eset - will serve you well. I have used TrustPort PC Security on my computer with similar hardware like you describe. I have it for some time now and I am completely satisfied. Antivirus, antispyware, antispam, even some specials like portable flash disk antivirus... So maybe you would like to try TrustPort? It has rich configuration options but in case you don't want to be bothered by details you just stick to the easy GUI and the default settings.

I give my vote to Kaspersky IS. If you want something to clean malware, I choose malwarebytes anti-malware. CCleaner is also a neat little application to keep the spyware out. lol @ Mcafee

I don't know if my link is allowed and i don't wanna bother anyone but this might help all of us top ten antivirus. I found this accidentally and i found out a lot of answers. You know...kaspersky is rated no 1. Personally i use something else, i use avast but those reviews show a different thing. Maybe it'll help you to choose the best antivirus for you. Good luck!

According to me Kaspersky is the best antivirus software compare to others. I am using Kaspersky anti virus software since long time and it provides full security for my pc. It has ultimate features to remove all types of viruses and also provides real time protection for my pc. If you are looking for a good antivirus software then i recommend you to download Kaspersky anti virus software. Kaspersky Pro 2010 version is released and also available for downloading.
