I've been thinking about this really and couldnt come up with a real intelligent awnser, so i'll throw it all out to you guys, and see if we can come up with a good solution.
Problem
When i was 16 - 17 my parents and friends would always get on me because i wasnt doing "normal" stuff. ( I would spend nearly 14 hours on the computer, *it has greatly reduced to about 4) Like going out drinking, having sex, going on dates, or just chilling. *I'm not homosexual, and i do have friends, and girls that i hang around with, however, i would prefer to be around the computer.

So let me ask this, why is it considered normal to go out and chill, have sex, or drink? Sure sex is great but damn it i wont make it my life Rolling Eyes (or maybe i just have not dated the right girl? Wink ) Is it normal because it is majority?

Normal is what you do. What everyone else does is abnormal. Mind you 14 hrs a day is probably unhealthy. 4 hrs a day isn't much better if you are 17. If you are based in the US I think that the pressure to conform is a bit strong.

As long as youre getting sex or happy with a wank who cares, Its what you enjoy, All my friends hate computers and when i chat about them they think "SHUT-UP" but i enjoy it and dont care!! Be your self, That is the best advice i got in my life.

I guess it comes from who your parents are and who your friends are. My parents are "nerds" so they would have been shocked if I wasn't discussing code and technology with them Laughing

My friends aren't into tech, but they don't have a problem with it especially since they now see the size of my pay check vs. Theirs.

Back in the day oh lets call it 9 years ago when I was 10 I recieved my first computer.. and I dabbled with it until I had dabbled with everything my 50Mhz could offer and my 5xx MB HDD could swallow... So I upgraded it and then I discovered BBS's and ever since my grades at school dropped (from nothing but an "A" to "B"s and "A"s... ).. then the internet came about and my parents were too cheap to pay for the internet so up until last month I had been "borrowing" internet access Twisted Evil ...

I spend a good 10 hours a day on my computer when I am not at school or work or out with friends (which usually involves computer something or other), or the casino..

People who aren't on their computers when they are home are not normal to me... Smile unless of course they are getting some lovin.... thats acceptable break time from the computer..

I do not spend much time on the computer at home at the moment. I can pawn that off on the fact that I am coding or surfing the net for a good 10 hours a day at work though. Off time is for pub, girlfriend, friends, reading, tv etc.

Ohh and sleep when I get time.
