Hi,

I just did my regular anti virus scanning of my Windows XP hard drives and some viruses were found.

One was the following:
I:\System Volume Information\_restore{3A579F61-82CF-4117-919A-DB7B394CD5BC}\RP290\A0072270.exe, 11-10994

Question: If I Turn OFF system restore, should the folders similar to above which is System Volume Information\_restore{...... }
be fully deleted from my hard drive, since there are no restore points?
And if so, and it should not remain on my drive, how do I delete it?

I appreciate anyone's prompt response.

Thanks....

I don't use system restore, I prefer to use acronis true image.

However I can offer you a few suggestions.

Launch system restore and open up the rescovery options and delete the old restore files manually

If that doesn't work set the space used by system restore to as little as possible

If that doesn't work open system protection and disable system restore, boot up in safe mode and delete the restore files.
