Hi! I need to know how to protect my computer from salty environment like near the sea. Is there a spray that would protect the motherboard components and circuitry or maybe perhaps lessen the effects of salt.

Thanks!

It would be a bad idea to spray-coat your motherboard or components with anything since it will trap in the heat and burn circuits out.

Better to attempt to control the air in your computer's locale by using an air purifier and dehumitizer.

Anyone living on a seacoast have any hints or tricks to keeping their PCs free of salt and dampness?

seal the case and put HEPA filters over all the vents maybe?
You could seal the boards with epoxy.. so maybe a spray epoxy would work? Lot of work though.. and the corrosion isn't going to be that bad on anything thats not steel - the case and screws are going to the only things really seeing bad effects. Those you can paint up good and use WD40

Invest in a passive cooling system like this one - http://www.brighthub.com/electronics/gizmos-gadgets/articles/77548.aspx
