Hello, I have a question. I have someone setting up a process to sftp files to my sftp server. I have set up a username/password for them to log in, etc. However, they are also requesting a "PGP key". I am running Ubuntu 9.x with whichever SFTP server comes by default.
My question is - what does it sound like the person is asking for in this context? A public key generated using ssh-keygen?
Fairly Good Comfort (PGP) is a information protection and decryption software program that provides cryptographic privacy and verification for information interaction. PGP is often used for deciding upon, encrypting and decrypting text messages, e-mails, data files, internet directories and whole hard drive categories to increase the protection of e-mail devices. It was designed by Phil Zimmermann in 1991.
