Just installed this, it's SWEET as a kilo of sugar.

Easy to install, painless partitioning, picked up the Hardware a treat, all funky and configurable.

I like it, I used to like SuSe best anyway but I haven't tried it for a while, this puts the rest to shame, powerful but easy enough to use so you don't get a nose bleed trying to figure out how to add a printer (Debian) heh.

Anyway it's barely out but if you get the chance to give it a whirl I recommend it Smile

This place doesn't look bad in Konq either, the fonts were a bit small on 1280x1024 but a couple of whacks on the magnifying glass and it's all sorted.

Nice one bruvva.

Going to try and set up mail now.

Cool. Might have to check it out.

I love browsing with konqueror but it just does some weird things sometimes.

It could just be my crappy hardware but it slows right down when there are animated gifs on a page. It also doesn't show up font sizes properly in posts on SF for some reason.

Great browser though, nice and light and konfigurable.

fonts. sounds like it might not be interpreting the style sheet correctly.

Cool, its not my crappy hardware then. According to that link there is a fix for it already. I'm just using an oldish ver. of KDE.

I'm not going to upgrade it I'm just going to blow it away and install a new distro. Most likely slack as I like it on my server box but OI might give SuSe a look first.

Yeah, I looked through the code on this site a while ago relating to the font sizes and found out what it was, there's a post regarding it somewhere. I think it could be a bug but it didn't really worry me.

P.S QT is the library that all KDE apps use. Like GTK for GNOME.

Did you get it boxed or what ShaolinTiger?

Is there a place to download SuSe's latest versions?

Yeh I bought the boxed Pro version from the Linux Expo I just went to, not sure if you can d/l SuSe, there are conflicting opinions, I think you can, but they haven't released 8.1 for download yet.

This directory is a placeholder for the upcoming ftp version of
the SuSE Linux 8.1 release, the youngest star in the SuSE Linux row.

Please expect this directory to be filled in the third week of
October 2002. We are already working on it to make it a success.

Thought you must have.

I think the reason there are conflicting opinions is that they only realease the 'ftp version' for download, to get an iso you have to get the box.

Thats as much as I can figure anyway.

Nice article on it here:

And yeh you can only download the 'FTP' version, it's pretty much worth buying as you get all the manuals, cd's and a DVD version.
