When do posts in this forum expire and end up in oblivion?

I was trying to find an older post:

http://www.security-forums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13683&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

and I find it is no longer available.

So when after the post date are posts removed permanently?
And why does this have to occur, why can't we have access to all posts?

Posts or Topics never expire. However, due to the database growing to a size which causes problems and slows down the site, we do a Spring and Fall cleaning of the database in which we remove topics from the section.

Hopefully this practice will be unnecessary in the near future as we update the site.

I was curious about the same thing. I noticed that my post count was decreasing and/or staying the same, knowing that I have been making posts.

Apart from the periodic post cleanup, what you describe may also be explained by the following thread: Post count.

Regarding the Fall/Spring post cleanup, we usually base the decision of which topics to remove on things such as post age, number of times viewed, and potential interest/attraction factor to the wide public (i.e. "help, my mouse is slow" would probably drop, "Nmap tutorial" would probably stay).
