Hey all,

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this subject for me.

Currently, my company is attempting to go through a process where we can, securely (and every day), delete the contents from off of our printer hard drives.

We are using all HP printers. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a tool that can be used to do this? Alternatively, is there a way to set up a task and maybe use a powershell/perl script of some sort to do this task for us?

HP's website has been no help. It seems like the closest support they have is a program that wont even run in Windows 7.

Is this the HP software you are referring to:

You can try running the program in compatibility mode if it won't natively run on Windows 7.

You can also try the following tool, Secure Erase:

http://cmrr.ucsd.edu/people/Hughes/SecureErase.shtml

I have used it the past and it adequately purges the drive.
