I have been having computer problems a lot lately and my friend sent me this article he saw in PC MAG on LiveTech:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2372447,00.asp

I was thinking I could get my parents to pay for it since the article says "A subscription to protect five PCs for a year costs just 25 percent more than the subscription for a single PC". And I think they will find the service helpful too.

But before I go convincing them, does anyone have any experience with this LiveTech? . . . or a service like it? thoughts and recommendations appreciated. thanks Smile

That fee isn't chump change. The basic subscription costs $239 for one PC and one year of coverage. Note, though, that this covers unlimited time and unlimited service calls. Hicks pointed out that you can get a single malware cleanup session from Symantec or McAfee for around $90, but if you get infected again you'll pay again.

Why pay $239 a year when many sites will fix your computer for free Question

I was looking for something like this cyberdefender Livetech. I know about cyberdefender but I didn't know about LiveTech.

I found the link to the PC Mag article here:

I can understand SifuMike, for technical users this is not worth much, but for non-technical users, or technical users who want to get a friend/relative off your back for every computer questions - then Livetech seems more reasonably priced.

I think it is a good product/price for the right customer.

Hmmm, interesting service. I can definitely see how home users could benefit from something like this. Us technical folks would never pay anyone to fix our PC's, but for people who are ignorant and don't want to deal with computer issues, this might be a good deal (so long as the service is actually decent and you trust the company).
