Web Folders, or WebDAV, is a file transfer protocol that supports secure file transfer over intranets and the Internet. With Web Folders, you can upload, download, and manage files on a remote computer across an intranet and the Internet. Web Folders is similar to File Transfer Protocol (FTP); however, Web Folders provides a more secure environment for transferring files over the Web.

If you want to uninstall it.. go to START>RUN and enter this:
Code:

msiexec /x C:\Windows\System32\webfldrs.msi

To install it use /i

Here's some info on what it did, and why....

It seems Terminal Services, Office, backup software and others cause this to install. Any recent software changes or updates?

Thanks to RoboGeek for the tip.

All you need to do on Win2k is change the %winDir% part to C:\Winnt (not C:\Windows) \System32\
and the....

msiexec /x C:\Winnt\System32\webfldrs.msi

....command works like a charm from the StartMenu-Run line.

Additionally, I suspect my copy got installed with a WebServer Kit
I installed which included the WebDav gizmo, basically an advanced
securuty layer or something for transmitting TCP/IP LAN stuff.
