FreeBSD and OpenBSD basically came from the same family tree.
the difference is its inclination, FreeBSD is more on the applications, OpenBSD is on security and NetBSD is for Network.

I thoght that NetBSD's thing was it runs on anything?? But as said they are nearly the same but focus on differnt goals. Dragonfly BSD is one to watch they are suppose to be doing some cool stuff check it out.

Not reccomended. I've heard stories that many of these have trojans. What's the point of doing something in a secure manner if you're not going to get your software from a trusted source? It's best to make your own ISO if needed, use the small boot ISO they provide and do a network install or boot from the floppy they provide and do a network install. Or, just burn the sets you'll need onto CD, mount it with the installer, and boot from floppy. There a million ways you could do this, getting an ISO from an untrusted source shouldn't be a option worth considering.
Or you could always support the project and buy a CD. It's not much money, and you'll be supporting something worthy.
