A recent survey found that the average IT user now has 21 passwords, with some heavy users having to keep track of as many as 70. Forty-nine percent write their passwords down, or store them in a file on their PC

If you think about every password you have, whether it be for a web based mail account(s), online gambling / banking / your local computer/ works password etc. etc. etc.

Do you use the same password in more than one place? I probably only have 10 which I use a lot, and most of these are the same,or some sort of variation on it Smile

Hey all,

70 passwords! WOW.

I have about 5 or 6.

Most of them are about 14 digits but I'd go crazy with 70 running around my head.

I got about 4 different ones. that i've used for years. and two usernames.

I think i'd find it hard to remember more than 5, especially if i didnt use them for a while.

I dont think having lots and having to keep them written down somewhere is very clever. Tho i got a folder on my yahoo mail for ones that get mailed to me. not important ones tho. webspace, online games, content providers.
i expect half of them dont work anymore since i've had my mail account for like 5 years at least.

Ive got about 6/7 passwords that i use. Most good sites have an option to "send me my password" if i forget it so it not that much of a problem.

I do have about 4 variations of the same password that is use often.
