because backup is imho very important (especialy on an M$ os Razz)

I would like to know which program u are using.
NTbackup failed here Sad

I did,
I don't like it either to answer a question twice Wink.
But only that Veritas thing an NTbackup came out, and maybe there were some other FREE tools are somthing.

BTW if you say NTbackup works fine, I'm gonna take your word for it!

/me back to NTBackup.

Agreed

Although im now happy with arcserve but it needs a LOT of attention and a lot of config to get the thing half decent, it should be setup and then swap the tapes / check its worked, if you dont want to put time into backup stay clear of computer associates

I get follwing error after a restore with NTbackup,
when I try to mount the store.



even after a restart of ESM.

any options to get it back up?

Im assuming the stores were consistent and cleanly shutdown, so you deleted the previous transaction log and managed to bring up the store?

I wasnt so lucky recently, with databases were 'dirty' (inconsistent) and after a hard restore I only had message headers, no attachments or bodies Smile
