One of my coworkers decided tot try and uninstall SP6 for some reason, and now he can not connect to the internet or any dial up networking sessions. I have checked the TCP/IP settings many times, uninstalled the NIC and reinstalled, and uninstalled all services and protocols and reinstalled. I can ping any IP address I want to, but it will not go online. There is also a dial up connection that he uses that will not work either.
He can share files and see all of the PC's on the network.
The last thing I tried before going home was to reinstall SP6, and it came up wih "Cannot install SP6 in Windows NT mode" or something similar.
And this isn't a server, it is just a workstation, and there is no backup. The first thing I was going to try this morning was installing SP6a and some updated NIC drivers, but I wanted to research it a bit before I started.
