ok. i've just installed Linux Redhat 8.0, GNOME configs, for the VERY first time in my life by myself.. and i did a mistake at the boot loader configurations. I set 3 boots, that is 1 for redhat, 1 for normal Windows 98 and 1 for WinXP which after done installing found out that i made a big mistake when setting WinXP into the boot loader config and now the WinXP option doesnt work. Question is :
1. Is there any way for me to edit the config once more?
2. I've seen the official redhat guide at www.redhat.com but i would like to get more references and tutorials for linux redhat, any website suggestions that are appropriate for newbies?
3. Is there any way of making it possible for me to access my linux partition through Win98 or WinXP cause it doesnt show up as a drive currently.

Install again but choose "update existing system" and it will give you an option to update the boot loader.

 A: Yes, depending on what boot loader you are using. Probably either Grub or Lilo. Documentation on each is readilly available.

A: Im not aware of a way to make ext2 or linux partitions viewable from windows. However you could mount a windows partition from linux and write on it copy to and from etc... Though Im not so sure if this applies to NTFS partitions. (if im not mistaking writing to ntfs was experimental)

u can view a linux mount from windows, u just have to run samba which is a pain to configure especially for a newbie.

thanks for those sites. but 1 thing i dont get is.. how come the password that i set for my "administrator" account = root keep saying i've got the wrong password.
E.g. if i set the pass as abc123
then would i enter the username and passwd on prompted as :
Username : administrator
Password : abc123
if yes, then i'm in deep sheetz as i've reinstalled it 5 times now, just because i cant get into the admin account but into non-admin account. HELP!!>..

that's the password for the linux box??, if it is, linux doesn't have an administrator account, u have a root account, so on the prompt u have to enter root not administrator

if you are trying to view files from Windows that are on Linux while in Windows and Linux is on another partition the HDD use:
explore2fs, search for it on freshmeat.net.

ok, got it. thanks. oh yah, i just somehow cant get it to detect my modem. how come? it says that it does not detect any modem attached to my computer. i'm using an internal modem currently. any ideas?

Win Modems are usually slow anyways because they are dependant on the Windows so it slows it down, a true modem gets better speed.
