My laptops DVD drive recently stopped working. It will nor read cds or dvds. I have a dell lattitude pc.

I am not sure what i did to stop it from working, but when i insert it windows xp does not recognize that it is there at all. I have run a new hardware wizard but it still does not recognize that it is there.

Is there any other things that i could try?

Reggie.

Is the drive showing at all, or just not the disk?

Try taking the entire drive out (there should be a release on the underside of the laptop) and then re-insert the drive...
