My computer is getting infected via my browser i.e. Firefox 3.5 or IE 7.0 just by surfing to reputable sites. Now here comes my question is how do viruses/malware get onto my system ? I have runs AV scans and on some occassions it will detect a trojan or malware of some kind. More often then not its a keylogger which usually but not always goes undetected by the AV. I do use a software based firewall and it has no detection or scanning ability for these types of malware.

My task manager shows the above executable being loaded into memory when I surf and wished to know do trojans and backdoor use this executable to infect and compromise the system ?

What are the means by which these malware get onto my system but only using the browser as I am not worried about downloading files.

Thanks in advance

Victor
