I am a total newbie in windows networking, and I need some advice in setting up an secure internal and external domain for my company. Currently we own an external domain, like company.com. For internal domain we probably are going to use something like company.local..
We also have 3 servers available with win server 2008 licenses. Two servers are intended as domain controllers for each subdomain; group1.company.local and group2.company.local. These two groups should have some kind of security between them. Group1 can have access to the whole network, but group2 cannot have access to group1 servers and equipment. The 3rd server is intended to be a dns/dhcp server for both networks/subdomains.
We are also planning to install one Exchange mailserver for both domains, and a webserver is also on the steps to be installed.
What is the best way to setup the "domainforest" for us, regarding ADs and DNS? Would appreciate any advice..
