Just ran across something on my system, wondering if I could have others
test on other versions on their own systems.
On my system, every time I run XFree86 and change my X configuration,
the file /tmp/xwlog is made. The problem:

user$ cd /tmp
user$ ln -s /etc/motd xwlog
...

root# XFree86
...(when finished with setup)
user$ cat /etc/motd
XFree86 4.2.0 / X Window System
If server is older than 6-12 months... etc etc etc

The fopen() params the program adds also contains an O_TRUNC

Anyone else have this problem?
